Refreshing (and totally cynicism-free) collection of songs celebrating innocent pleasures. The Lotus Eaters were a Liverpudlian duo who scored one UK hit with the summer anthem "The First Picture Of You" and then released this album to cash in. Most of the album has the same freshness as the single - surging melodies worthy of a 60s girl group mark "You Don't Need Someone New" and "German Girl". This is just as well as, to a cynic like me, the lyrics are frequently hilariously earnest. These are clearly people who have never thought anything bad about anyone. If you can stomach the unabashed romanticism, this is actually a lovely record. I don?t mean to sound unappreciative and critical, but it seems that lately that you are catering to masses. The stuff that you have been posting lately is more commonplace. I know that posting something obscure might not be worth your time, as far as the amount of download you might get, but there is a certain group of collectors that long for the obscure stuff that you post. Do the some of artists on your Rare Hits comps. have full length recordings? Thanks again for all of your postings.

MoskwaTV, there's one thing here. I don't post stuff to satisfy anyone. Sometimes while listening to my ipod on my way home, i get to a certain lp and I feel like posting it for people. that's that simple. Songs in rare lps collection, I have most of them on the original lps, some are from singles. If you're interested in anything in particular, I have no problem posting it. By the way I don't appreciate your comment on this album cause it's one of my all time favorites. I'd like the pepole who has not listened to it, get to know it better.

Sorry, I didn't post this comment for this recording at all. I just posted it, so that you might read the comment. Don't get me wrong. You're one of the few I can't wait to see what you post next. I'm just at the point in my collection where it's becoming few and far between. It harder to find things these days. I'm completely grateful for the stuff that you post, even if I already have it.
P.S. I've been listening to The Lotus Eaters since 1983. I still have the original "Smash Hits" mag. that had one of the first interview with them.

PLEASE discard any thoughts about Moskwa. Mainstream would be things like Pure 80s and Now thats music junk. Chart topping is nothing. Your stuff is super rare and no one is being forced to download them. I hunger for every release. Thanks for the good work!

U N B E L I E V A B L E ! I bought this LP in 1984 and fell in love with it by hearing the first song "German Girl". It's one of my ALL-TIME-TOP-TEN.

Actually "You Don't Need Someone New" was a single only release and wasn't on the album. This is the Japanese release of the album and is missing two tracks "Too Young" and "Start Of The Search". There is a newer release of the album on CD that has the entire album on it.
I forgot it's also missing "When You Look At Boys" so that would be three tracks missing.
